Schizo Stroller

Hi, I'm new too.
Apologies for the user name - if you know the philosopher Gilles Deleuze you'll get it...
My name is Al, I'm 37 and have been hearing voices for over 15 years. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1994, but I usually jokingly refer to myself as a practising schizophrenic - I'm working really hard at being a good one ;)
I also suffer delusions such as thought broadcast (thus the schizo label)
I have previously attended the Brighton hearing voices group with convened by Martin Lunn
I am aware of the work of Romme and Escher (I don't know if their work is relevant to this site) and I am in the process of working up to a PhD application working on the critique of rationality (specifically in the communicative rationality of Jurgen Habermas) with relevance to the medicalisation of mental health (if that interests anyone). Hence philosophical in-joke user name.
Hope I haven't scared you. :D
