Hey,

I'm posting this for someone else, but I need to know if there are any support worker organisations in England?

In wales we have something called HAFAL which used to be the schizophenic fellowship. Does this exist in England? If so do they offer support workers to come out to your house and look after you for a certain amount of time in a week?

I have a friend who i believe would benefit from this, Please help and let me know!

Thanks

sara

Hi - not sure I know all of your answer. In England, what used to be the national schizophrenia fellowship is now called Re-think. We have a link to them on this site. In some areas Re-think do have support workers. In east sussex the community mental health teams, AOTs etc have support time recovery workers who might visit and help people with their shopping, going out or just a chat for example. Some people rent from housing associations and they also sometimes provide housing support workers. I feel like I don't really know the answer to youre qu?

does anyone else know?
what support do other people get?

Thanks sara, sounds similar (Re-Think) to hafal... I have a support worker who I see once a week and he helps with things like emotional support to shopping and just generally getting out of the house etc.

Thats kinda what I was looking for I think.
